Jefferson citizens keep actively involved in more than 55 clubs and organizations. Hobbies, special interests and community-oriented projects are offered to residents of all ages. Local chapters of service groups include the American Legion Reinhardt-Windl Unit 164, Kiwanis Club of Jefferson, Knights of Columbus, Jefferson Lions Club, Jefferson Optimist Club, Jefferson Rotary Club, and Endl-Gruennert Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3589.
For the elderly, the Over 50 Club and the Jefferson Cab Committee - which offers free cab rides to the elderly. The new Jefferson Senior Center, located on Collins Road, was opened in 2003 which offers a wide variety of activities.
For the outdoors or sports minded, there are snowmobile and sportsman clubs. For the youngsters, there are 4-H clubs, J.A.W.S. (a swimming club), Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Falcon Friends and Explorers.
